...a moment in the life

"Sex and War", two one-act comedies about love, is a perfect combination of gift and night on the town for your Valentine. Flowers and candy have been done to death already - you'll spend less on tickets to this show than for those things - and the comic memories will last after the flowers have wilted and the candy has been eaten.
Carol Anne Gordon, Associate Theater Critic for John Garcia's THE COLUMN

MBS Productions is nothing if not seasonally correct. Last October the group toasted Halloween with a hellishly entertaining immorality play, Lucifer Descending. Now, with Valentine's Day around the corner, producer/director Mark-Brian Sonna has unwrapped a candygram called Sex & War.

Two One Act comedies explore the modern nature of dating, cheating, proposals, and the perpetual war of the sexes.

"What's in a name" (Sex) is about a man and a woman that meet at a park bench and develop an instant dislike for each other until they discover they share one thing in common: they are each being cheating on by their partner.

"All's Fair" (War) happens on Valentine's Day.  Lois is expecting great things on Valentine's Day since she's finally getting to celebrate the holiday with her beloved, but all is ruined when he shows up having forgotten the holiday.  Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, especially on Valentine's Day.

Written by the playwright of:
Homeland Insecurity or how I learned to Love the Patriot Act, and the award winning Water, Water Everywhere.
